10/30/2022 0 Comments Omega pocket watch 8760![]() After it's brought back to life I'll carry the watch with pride in my pocket knowing that I have very early high grade caliber from my favorite watch company ticking away happily as I go about my time. The movement is need of some minimal TLC and I'm going to scrap my original idea of putting the movement in a wrist watch case. This early movement is what helped make Omega famous and put the map of the world of watchmaking. The case is marked with a 20 year guarantee which means it was made sometime after 1898 according to a thread I saw on the NAWCC website since prior to that they were guaranteed for 15 years. Sadly I don't know a lot about history of Omega during that time period so I don't know for sure if they imported movements to the U.S. With how well the movement fits the case it very well could be original for the movement. Fahys was started in 1878 and went out of business during the Great Depression. The underside of the dial had no markings and it could be original to the movement, but I have no way of telling.
